Walking along the Rua Alfredo de Brito from the Praca Terreiro de Jesus, you will come to the Praca Pelourinho.Colonial buildings in pastel pink and yellow line the streets facing the stone-paved square.The blue building is the old slave market, where instruments of torture used at the time still remain.

Also known as a church of miracles, the Igreja de Nossa Senhor do Bonfim is said to have been built in order to show the gratitude of a Portuguese ship captain whose ship nearly sank, but made it to Salvador with the help of the God.The captain is now worshipped as a guardian angel of the Bahians.
