| With a circumference of approximately 600 meters, sightseeing of the island will only take half a day, and the spectacular and well-preserved medieval Benedictine Abbey of St Michel is a must. Strolling around the tidal area after sightseeing is also enjoyable. The island and mainland are connected by a causeway of approximately 2 km with walking trails on both sides. During the morning, visitors may encounter herds of grazing sheep, offering an excellent chance for taking pictures of the entire island. |

Built at the end of 15th century to intercept incursions by the enemy, the King∏s Gate is constructed as a drawbridge with a chain-suspended door.
Past the entrance to the island lies the Boulevard Gate and slightly further on, the King∏s Gate. Currently, the administrative offices of the island are located in the tower above the King∏s Gate.

Among the guard towers on the south of the island, the one located closest to the entrance is the King∏s Tower.
These eight towers, from the King∏s to the Claudine are connected via inside walls and boast a history of protecting the island from invading British troops via the coordinated defense of 119 knights. |

| Located past the King∏s Gate, halfway up Grande-Rue on the left side is the parish church inside a cave, featuring an exceptional side chapel with a dramatic statue of St. Michael slaying the dragon.Commenced in the 11th Century by scraping away at the craggy mountain, its construction was completed in 17th Century. |

Built in the 8th century, the abbey was dedicated to the Archangel Michael by St. Aubert, the Bishop of Avranches.
Having undergone renovations and expansions on many occasions, the current three-layered structure boasts a spectacular 13th century Gothic styled cloister known as ∪la merveille (the marvel)∩, among other amazing highlights on the islet. |

| Built in 1524 by Lietenant Gabriel du Puy as a west-facing guard tower, the Gabriel Tower, named after its builder, now serves as a lighthouse.Its modern architecture also consists of a framework robust enough to withstand artillery attacks, the newest weapon of the period it was built in and to neutralize enemy attacks. |
