Senhor do Bonfim

| The Portuguese Navy Captain Teodório Rodrigues de Faria started the construction of this pilgrimage sanctuary in 1740. Located at the only hill in the Itapagipe peninsula, the Bonfim Church was almost complete in 1754, being the Bonfim Brotherhood founded in the following year. |
